Proposed Regulation Would Protect Health Care Workers' Rights Says Fr. Pavone

STATEN ISLAND, Ny., Aug. 22 /Christian Newswire/ -- Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, today commented on a newly released proposed federal regulation that would withdraw federal funding from health care providers that discriminate against workers who refuse to participate in abortion and other procedures that violate their consciences.

"Health care workers should not be forced to choose between their livelihoods and their most deeply held moral beliefs," said Fr. Pavone. "It's amazing how so many 'pro-choice' people don't recognize the rights of health care workers to choose what they believe is right. Indeed, the abortion industry's greatest fear is not that abortion will be illegal, but that it will remain legal without enough doctors willing to do the procedure. Long live freedom of choice!"
