THANKSGIVING TO GOD FOR HIS MANY BLESSINGS!

The aroma of a turkey cooking, the scent of pumpkin pie, the sound of a roaring crowd on television-all are things that will stimulate your senses this weekend. But shouldn't our souls be stimulated as well? Thanksgiving is once again near and it is a time to thank God for all the blessings He has bestowed upon us and to reflect upon a year full of many joys. This time of thankfulness and reflection is vital, for it is far too easy to focus on the negative. Today's commentary brings a very special Thanksgiving message from Judie Brown and reminds us of the importance of counting our blessings.

Catholic nurse can't sue hospital that forced her to assist abortion: court

Life Site News
The Second Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that a Catholic nurse who was forced by a New York hospital to participate in an abortion does not have the right to sue her employer. The court found that there is no right to private action or private remedy under the statue cited by DeCarlo in her suit - the so-called "Church Amendment." That amendment protects health care workers working for federally-funded entities from being discriminated against because they refused to perform abortions on religious or conscience grounds.

Famous pro-abortion feminist calls unborn child a 'tumor'

Life Site News
The well-known pro-abortion feminist and psychologist Florence Thomas has published an account of her illegal abortion at the age of 22, obtained in the mid-1960s in France, in which she refers to her unborn child as a "tumor." Thomas, who moved to Colombia, is now a psychologist at the National University of Colombia and the founder of the Woman and Society Group (Grupo Mujer y Sociedad). She is famous for her claim that women should be permitted to terminate the lives of their unborn children whenever the child isn't "desired" by the mother, because the love of the mother is what "humanizes" the fetus.

Catholics and journalists call for heads to roll at L'Osservatore Romano

Life Site News
For perhaps the first time, mainstream journalists are joining with conservative Catholics in criticizing the editors of the Vatican's newspaper L'Osservatore Romano for having created this weekend's media maelstrom over Pope Benedict's comments on condom use for AIDS prevention. The pope's brief comments were a small section of a new interview book, released in Rome today, by German journalist Peter Seewald. Catholic commentators and mainstream journalists alike are denouncing L'Osservatore Romano for what they identify as its "betrayal" of the Pope and of accepted standards of journalistic ethics.
