New FDA Report: Abortion Drug Kills 14 Women, Injures 2,200
The Food and Drug Administration has quietly released a new report about the deaths of and injuries to women from the dangerous RU 486 abortion drug and the Obama administration has done nothing to make the information available to women.

Following its approval during the Clinton administration, the FDA released a report in 2006 that received widespread attention for showing more than 1,100 women had been subjected to adverse effects resulting from their taking the abortion drug mifepristone, commonly known a RU 486. Pro-life advocates have waited five years for the FDA to come out with a new report of problems associated with the drug despite mounting evidence that the abortion drug continues to kill and injure women across the globe.

The FDA, with no fanfare, has released a new report, dated April 30, 2011. The report indicates 14 women in the United States alone have died from using the mifepristone abortion drug and 2,207 women have been injured by it.

Of the women experiencing medical and physical problems resulting from the abortion drug, 612 women required hospitalizations, 339 experienced blood loss significant enough to require a transfusion, 256 experienced infections and 48 women experienced what the FDA labeled as severe infections. Given that the RU 486 abortion drug caused sepsis, a potentially lethal infection that resulted in the deaths of women from around the world, the serious infections were very likely life-threatening situations.

Severe infections generally involve death or hospitalization for at least 2-3 days, intravenous antibiotics for at least 24 hours, total antibiotic usage for at least 3 days, and any other physical or clinical findings, laboratory data or surgery that suggest a severe infection, the FDA report states. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/07/12/new-fda-report-abortion-drug-kills-14-women-injures-2200/

Planned Parenthood May Close North Carolina Center After De-Funding
Now that North Carolina has yanked taxpayer funding for the Planned Parenthood, officials with the abortion business say they may close one of the Tar Heel State centers it operates in Durham.

Planned Parenthood of Central North Carolina said today that it may close its Durham Health Center if the abortion giant doesn t get a favorable court ruling from a judge who will decide whether to grant Planned Parenthood a preliminary injunction preventing the funding cuts from taking effect. PPCNC sued the state earlier this month after its sister affiliates in Indiana and Kansas filed lawsuits in those states over taxpayer funding cuts to the abortion lobby.

In North Carolina, the abortion business receives $434,000 through state family planning programs aimed at reducing teen pregnancies and providing birth control. Although the money can only be used for non-abortion services, the same organization is also the nation s largest abortion business doing more than 330,000 annually and comprising more than one-quarter of all abortions in the United States annually.

The PPCNC officials say those cuts amount to 5 percent of the overall budget of the abortion business, or around $212,000. PPCNC operates centers in Durham as well as Chapel Hill and Fayetteville and the Duran facility, the only one to receive taxpayer funds, stands to lose about $131,000, or 23 percent of its budget.

If we lose that money, we can t sustain the Durham Health Center long-term, Janet Colm, the CEO of Planned Parenthood of Central North Carolina, told the Herald Sun newspaper.

This is not just a talking point about closing the center, Colm said. We have to think about the unthinkable. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/07/12/planned-parenthood-may-close-north-carolina-center-after-de-funding/

Pro-Life Group Renews Call for Planned Parenthood Investigation
A national pro-life organization that released hundreds of pages of research material into the financial, anti-woman and other problems at the Planned Parenthood abortion business is renewing its call for an investigation.

Americans United for Life, last week, issued a new report featuring a groundbreaking analysis of the nation s largest abortion business. The organization said it uncovered evidence of systemic financial irregularities within the abortion giant, which receives more than $363 million in federal and state taxpayer funding, and that Congress should investigate.

Its staff combed through 20 years of Planned Parenthood financial data and the report documents the known and alleged abuses by Planned Parenthood, including the misuse of federal health care and family planning funds, failure to report criminal child sexual abuse, failure to comply with parental involvement laws, assisting those in engaged in prostitution and/or sex trafficking, and dangerous misuse of the abortion drug RU-486.

The abortion giant responded to the report claiming the information is false.

We are proud of the trust millions of women place in us every year to provide high quality health care. We approach our work with a deep sense of responsibility to the patients we serve, and recognize that the importance of our work is growing because in many communities we are often the only source of affordable quality health care for women, the abortion business said. This so-called report is a politically driven attack by an organization opposed to birth control and expanded access to birth control. It uses discredited, recycled and misleading claims to attack Planned Parenthood and should be viewed with a skeptical eye. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/07/12/pro-life-group-renews-call-for-planned-parenthood-investigation/

Poll: Obama Loses 1/3 of Hispanic Support, Abortion a Reason
A new poll shows pro-abortion President Barack Obama has lost about one-third of the support he had from Hispanics in the 2008 presidential election, and one pro-life Hispanic leader says abortion is the reason why.

Obama hosted a meeting at the White House for Latino groups that focus on political advocacy, but, one the same day, Gallup released a new poll showing his Hispanic support down about 30 percent over the course of the last 18 months. In December 2009, Obama received a 73 percent favorable rating from Hispanics, but that dropped to 52 percent at the end of June. The news is bad for Obama and his re-election prospects, as he is counting on winning states like Florida and New Mexico, which have large Hispanic populations, in order to retain his stranglehold on the White House. The polling results are good news for Republicans, who will be voting for a nominee to challenge the pro-abortion president.

White House senior aide David Plouffe said on July 7 that Hispanics would play a key role in ensuring another four years for the abortion advocate. We believe that we can improve over what we did in 2008 in turnout in some of those base Obama groups, he told reporters.

The Gallup poll cited economic issues as turning off Latino voters. Real improvement in the U.S. economy, including lower unemployment, would go a long way toward restoring approval to 2009 levels, it said.

But Raimundo Rojas, the Hispanic outreach director for the National Right to Life Committee, tells LifeNews.com that Obama s aggressive promotion of abortion is also playing a key role in turning off Hispanic voters. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/07/12/poll-obama-loses-13-of-hispanic-support-abortion-a-reason/

Planned Parenthood Cuts Contraception, Not Abortion After De-Funding
Planned Parenthood abortion businesses in various states are making decisions on what to cut now that they have faced cuts in taxpayer funding or elimination of the funds entirely. The cuts came because Planned Parenthood is the biggest abortion business in the nation but, instead of stopping abortions to regain the funds, officials have cut out birth control.

In New Hampshire, following news that the Executive Council revoked a $1.8 million contract, Planned Parenthood decided to halt birth control and pelvic exams. Patients who used to be able to come to us for their pills now have to walk away, said Jennifer Frizzell, a spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood of Northern New England.

According to Reuters, Planned Parenthood has stopped providing birth control pills and other contraception in New Hampshire after the state s executive council rejected up to $1.8 million in funding for the group, which also provides privately-funded abortions. The move is expected to affect an average of 120 low-income women each day. Other services provided by Planned Parenthood, including pelvic exams, were also in peril.

Patients who used to be able to come to us for their pills now have to walk away, said Jennifer Frizzell, a spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood of Northern New England.

David Daleiden of Live Action, the pro-life group that exposes abuses at Planned Parenthood centers ranging from not reporting cases of statutory rape to authorities to arranging abortions for the pimps who victimize girls in sex trafficking, says the decisions on what to cut show Planned Parenthood is not as concerned about promoting birth control and contraception as it is selling abortions. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/07/12/planned-parenthood-cuts-contraception-not-abortion-after-de-funding/

Another 911 Call Shows Woman Victimized by Botched Abortion
A pro-life group that obtained the audio of a handful of 911 calls showing women victimized by failed abortions at an abortion center in Albuquerque, New Mexico has released the audio of a second call.

Operation Rescue has released the second in a series of 911 calls made over a recent 15-month period from Southwestern Women s Options, an abortion clinic in Albuquerque that it says is presiding over abortions that are clearly dangerous for women. The latest call reveals a botched first trimester abortion procedure that required emergency medical intervention.

The patient was a 30-year old woman who suffered uterine bleeding , a sign of a possible punctured womb, which is a life-threatening abortion complication. The call was placed on November 3, 2010, at 12:42 PM.

The patient was transported to UNM Hospital, which operates its own abortion business, the UNM Center for Reproductive Health, where OR has obtained audio of a 911 call placed following the injury of a woman during an abortion procedure. In that disturbing 911 recording, the patient can be heard groaning and struggling for life.

New Mexico is the wild, wild west of the abortion industry. It has so little oversight that incidents like these are common place. Women who walk into an abortion clinic in New Mexico are playing what amounts to Russian Roulette with their lives, said Operation Rescue president Troy Newman. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/07/12/another-911-call-shows-woman-victimized-by-botched-abortion/

Would Obama Dump Biden for Pro-Abortion Sen. Kay Hagan?
New Jersey political analyst Alan Steinberg predicted on his blog that President Obama could dump Joe Biden as Vice President in 2012, adding instead pro-abortion Sen. Kay Hagan (D-NC) to the Democratic ticket.

Steinberg hypothesizes Biden will then replace Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. There has been widespread speculation among political pundits for months that Biden may not accompany Obama on the 2012 ticket and that Clinton may not continue to serve as Secretary of State if Obama is reelected.

Steinberg predicts Sen. Hagan will be chosen as the Vice Presidential candidate ahead of the 2012 Democratic National Convention slated to be held in Charlotte, North Carolina. The pick is an obvious play for a state critical to Obama s reelection. Narrowly edging out a win in the state in 2008, Obama may need a repeat win to offset losses in other swing states like Virginia, Ohio and Indiana, which are likely to flip back to Republicans. Obama is also in trouble in states like New Hampshire and Florida, which he carried in 2008 but swung decisively Republican in the 2010 midterm elections.

Democrats in North Carolina fared better in 2010 than in other swing states, which generally experienced an anti-Obama mood at the polls. Democrats held onto seven of North Carolina s eleven House seats despite the national trends. Joe Biden s home state of Delaware is indisputably a Democratic hold for Obama but the choice of Hagan could tip the scales and give him the boost he needs to carry North Carolina. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/07/12/would-obama-dump-biden-for-pro-abortion-sen-kay-hagan/
