Planned Parenthood Loses $200K Tax-Funded Grant in Michigan
The state of Michigan has withdrawn a $200,000 taxpayer-funded grant to Planned Parenthood Mid and South Michigan, which is in the process of building a new abortion facility in Auburn Hills.

The Michigan Department of Community Health dropped the grant, according to Ed Rivet, Legislative Director for Right to Life of Michigan. The grant was supposed to go towards helping Planned Parenthood furbish its 17,050 sq. ft. mill in Auburn Hills, which is currently just an empty building, according to pro-life blogger Jill Stanek.

Planned Parenthood paid $733,151 cash for the structure in November 2010, Stanek says. Interestingly, Planned Parenthood is misrepresenting how big the building is and how much it paid.

But there was a wrinkle, a deed restriction on the building barring its use as an abortion clinic. The restriction was put in place by the owners of the Comfort Inn Hotel located behind the building when they purchased it from the former owner of Planned Parenthood s property several years ago, Stanek continues. In October 2010 Planned Parenthood attorneys tried to pull a fast one by getting the Comfort Inn owners to agree the building could be used as a medical office[ ], without mentioning the A-word or telling them Planned Parenthood was the purchaser. Planned Parenthood readily admits this. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/20/planned-parenthood-loses-200k-tax-funded-grant-in-michigan/

Woman Dies at Marie Stopes Abortion Business in Australia
A woman has died from a failed legal abortion in Australia run in Croydon, Victoria by the British-based Marie Stopes International abortion business.

A report in The Age newspaper confirms a 42-year-old woman died on Sunday days after the abortion she obtained last week. A representative of the Coroners Court of Victoria said the abortion death would be investigated.

Officials with the Victoria health department visited the abortion facility yesterday and made a determination that it was not operating outside the Australian state s health and safety laws.

The abortion death took place at an abortion facility that has already drawn international attention because it employed an abortion practitioner who is accused of purposefully infecting more than 50 women with hepatitis C during 2008 and 2009. Anesthesiologist James Latham Peters is due back in court in May for the remainder of the hearings in the case.

Dr Mark Schulberg, the owner of the abortion business has had problems in the past, according to the newspaper. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/20/woman-dies-at-marie-stopes-abortion-business-in-australia/

Abortion Practitioners Face Hearings in Texas, Broke Laws
Two abortion practitioners in Texas face hearings on complaints a pro-life group filed with state officials after undercover investigations it conducted showed them violating state abortion laws.

Franz Theard and Douglas Karpen have been scheduled to face hearings conducted by the Texas medical board on May 16. Theard is accused of coaching minor girls to cross state lines to avoid Texas parental notification laws and with illegally disposing of the remains of babies victimized by abortions. Karpen is accused of violating the state s informed consent laws and has a history of violating such laws in the past.

Operation Rescue filed the complaints and said today that a third abortion practitioner, H. Brook Randal, will likely face a hearing as well but a date has not been set.

The fact that these hearings are being deferred months into the future shows that the charges against them are being taken very seriously, said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. We are happy that the Board is pursuing these cases, but of course we wish things were moving a little quicker. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/20/abortion-practitioners-face-hearings-in-texas-broke-laws/

Huntsman Would Veto Any Budget Funding Planned Parenthood
Republican presidential hopeful Jon Huntsman gave the conservative blog Red State an interview and, in hit, he restates his deeply-felt pro-life views.

Huntsman has not signed the pledge the Susan B. Anthony List put forward that has other GOP candidates committed to supporting legislation that would revoke federal taxpayer funding from the Planned Parenthood abortion business. Instead, he says he would go further by pledging to veto any federal budget containing Planned Parenthood funding.

The relevant pro-life portions of the interview appear below. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/20/huntsman-would-veto-any-budget-funding-planned-parenthood/

Pro-Lifers Sing Christmas Carols at Chicago Abortion Clinics
The Pro-Life Action League s 9th annual Empty Manger caroling day took place Saturday, December 17 at nine Illinois abortion facilities, four in DuPage County and five in Chicago.

In DuPage, the day began at ACU Health Center in Hinsdale, then proceeded to Aanchor in Glen Ellyn and Access in Downers Grove, and finished at Planned Parenthood in Aurora.

Over 80 pro-lifers took part in at least one of the DuPage caroling sites, with Planned Parenthood drawing the largest crowd of 55.

The Chicago caroling tour began at Family Planning Associates in downtown Chicago, then went on to Near North Planned Parenthood, All Women s Health, American Women s Medical Center, and concluded at Albany Medical/Surgical Center. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/20/pro-lifers-sing-christmas-carols-at-chicago-abortion-clinics/

Gospel Singer Fred Hammond Almost Aborted Before He Could Sing
A powerful video is popping up on Facebook pages across our country. It s an interview with well-know gospel artist Fred Hammond. He s on fellow artist Donnie McClurklin s radio show sharing a chilling story.

It s the true story of his mother s attempted abortion with him. That s right. Fred Hammond was almost aborted. His mother waited her whole life before telling him the truth behind his birth. She literally told him on her dying bed.

Fred s story moved my heart for a number of reasons. First off, it s a witness of Gods divine protection and His power over death. Secondly, it ministers to me personally because I love Fred Hammond s music. His songs have gotten me through some of the most painful moments of my life. I ve wept, danced, and shouted along with his praise and worship.

He has written some of my all-time favorite gospel songs. I know millions of others feel the same way I do. I couldn t imagine the gospel music industry, let alone the world without this powerful voice. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/20/gospel-singer-fred-hammond-almost-aborted-before-he-could-sing/

Legislator: Kermit Gosnell Killed My Cousin in Failed Abortion
Last week, when the Pennsylvania state legislature approved a bill that would hold abortion facilities accountable for following basic health and safety standards, a state legislator gave an impassioned plea as to why she supported the bill.

State Rep. Margo L. Davidson, an African-American first term Democratic legislator from Upper Darby explained why she strongly supported the legislation to better monitor abortion centers like the one Kermit Gosnell ran in Philadelphia, even though some Democrats and pro-abortion groups opposed it.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Davidson said her 22-year-old cousin was one of the women Gosnell killed in a failed abortion.

Semika Shaw was just coming into her own as a young woman, Davidson said, when she died in 2002 from an infection caused by a botched abortion in Gosnell s West Philadelphia clinic.

I honor her memory by voting for this bill, Davidson told her colleagues Wednesday after the controversial measure was approved. So women will no longer walk into a licensed health-care facility and be butchered as she was. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/20/legislator-kermit-gosnell-killed-my-cousin-in-failed-abortion/

Wall St. Journal Spreads Margaret Sanger s Abortion Propaganda
Did you know that one out of ten people reading this article will go on to win the lottery? Sounds absurd, right? Of course it s false, but outrageous lies like this are the norm for abortion propagandists. This is what Margaret Sanger and her offspring Planned Parenthood have done, persistently, to the American public since 1917. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/12/20/wall-st-journal-spreads-margaret-sangers-abortion-propaganda/
