Silent No More Awareness Campaign Fights the Real 'War Against Women'

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y., April 26, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- In response to rallies planned in state capitals across the country on Saturday to protest the "War Against Women," members of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign have shared how they see the real war against women, and their comments reach a common conclusion.

"What all of these women, these veterans of choice, say is that abortion is the nuclear weapon in the arsenal of the war against women," said Georgette Forney, co-founder of Silent No More. "Here in their own words, the wounded warriors in the war against women share the impact of being in the battle."

Beatrice Fedor, South Carolina: "Can Ronald McDonald oppose childhood obesity while selling obesity inducing food items to kids? Neither can feminists oppose violence against women and support abortion. Abortion is violent and humiliating. It is convenient for the abuser, crushes women's self-esteem and creates self-hatred. I'm pro-woman and anti-abortion."

Debbie Magee, Arkansas: "You just cannot be pro-abortion and pro-woman at the same time. There is nothing freeing about abortion. How can it be empowering to a woman to pit her against her unborn child and leave her with a lifetime of what if's and regrets?"

Pamela Messina, Virginia: "The real war against women is being waged by the abortion industry as it helps those who are coercing women (such as boyfriends, husbands and parents) to abort their children. The real war against women also is being waged every time a female child is aborted in the womb. What good are women's rights, if you first do not have the right to be born?"

Kathy Rutledge, Kentucky: "I agree there is a war against women. But the real war is not about reproductive rights. By legalizing abortion, America has opened a Pandora's Box of discrimination that will affect its demographics for many years to come. First, we accepted killing babies in the wombs of pregnant teenagers because they were too young. Then, we accepted killing babies in the wombs of black single mothers because they were too poor. More recently, we have begun to accept the killing of babies in the wombs of married women, because the babies were girls instead of boys. That's a real war against women. What's next?"

Leslie Brunolli, California: "I wish that when I was in the 70's and was pro choice and believed the jargon 'My body My Choice' that someone would have told me that 'my choice' would haunt me for the rest of my life. That choice left a devastating imprint on my life that no other choice I have ever made compares too."

Julie Lamin, Rhode Island: "Abortion is not safe and there are physical, psychological and emotional consequences. Abortion is actually the war on women because it is a war on motherhood. Instead of abortion, we need to help women with what they need to support the child."

Nicole Peck, Connecticut: "Abortion is the war on women, on our families, our future. Abortion can mean infertility, never being pregnant or having a child again. Then what? How does that choice help when you really want a child? Abortion is not freedom. True freedom lies in choosing LIFE for you and your child. Abortion causes heartache and emotional or physical pain years later!"

Cathy Trowbridge, Illinois: "When I think of all our service men and women dying in foreign lands protecting our freedoms, I cringe knowing we have a war right here in our neighborhoods. I cringe when I hear our President say he doesn't want his daughters to be punished with a baby. We are so blatantly disregarding the gift of human life. We are turning our backs on the killing of our own children, our future generations, just down the road from where we live. I want the truth to be told to women. When we unite and make a stand, it must begin at the very basic level of protecting life in the womb, convenient or not."

Kelly Clinger, Georgia: "The real war on women is being waged on those of us who refuse to buy into a culture of death."

Pat Pulliam, Texas: "The real war on women is being waged in the abortionist's office. As in any war, the enemy uses camouflage and lies to trick its opponents into giving up their freedoms."

Nancy Belzile New York: "Everbody talks about a woman's right to choose. Sadly, the rights of the unborn are not considered and in reality, women are not given a choice. I was never given a choice or opportunity to feel supported to bring my two children to term... If someone had been there to offer non-judgmental support, I would not have gone through with the abortions. But instead I was told the child growing inside me was just tissue and a procedure would make it go away and I could go back to my life like nothing ever happened. I will regret my abortions until my death."

Speaking of the people who advocate for abortion, Mrs. Forney said, "They see an abortion clinic and they think choice. We look at the same clinic, and we see the ultimate exploitation of women and the starting point for where we should unite to fight for real women's rights and equality."
