Planned Parenthood Endorses Obama, Buys Ads Trashing Romney
The nation s biggest abortion business endorsed pro-abortion President Barack Obama today and announced it will purchase $1.4 million in television advertising attacking the pro-life views of Mitt Romney.

The ads will slam Romney for his supposedly harmful positions on women s health because he favors not forcing religious groups to pay for birth control and abortion-causing drugs for their employees.

There is no greater champion for women s health than President Obama and Planned Parenthood Action Fund couldn t be prouder to endorse his reelection as president today, said Planned Parenthood Action Fund President Cecile Richards. The contrast with Mitt Romney couldn t be starker. Planned Parenthood Action Fund is committed to ensuring that voters know how wrong Mitt Romney is for women in his own words. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/30/planned-parenthood-endorses-obama-buys-ads-trashing-romney/

Democrats: Sex-Selection Abortion Ban is Anti-Woman
Democrats in Congress peddled a curious reason for opposing a ban on sex-selection abortions that target girl babies with abortion because they are not boy parents may prefer. They said the ban was anti-woman and part of the so-called War on Women Republicans are allegedly waging.

During today s debate on the Congressional bill to ban sex-selection abortions, Michigan Democrat John Conyers said the ban on sex-selection abortions tramples the rights of women.

It limits a woman s right to choose and jeopardizes her access to safe, legal medical care, he claimed. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/30/democrats-sex-selection-abortion-ban-is-anti-woman/

Mitt Romney Wraps Up Republican Nomination to Face Obama
It s official. With votes last night in Texas, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney officially wrapped up the Republican nomination and is a lock to face pro-abortion President Barack Obama in November.

Romney entered Tuesday with 1,086 convention delegates, according to an Associated Press tally, 58 short of the 1,144 necessary for a majority with Texas having 155 delegates at stake.

I am honored that Americans across the country have given their support to my candidacy and I am humbled to have won enough delegates to become the Republican Party s 2012 presidential nominee, Romney said in a statement LifeNews received after the vote. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/30/mitt-romney-wraps-up-republican-nomination-to-face-obama/

Congress: U.S. Does Less to Stop Sex-Selection Abortion Than China
Members of Congress are debating legislation today that would ban sex-selection abortions in the United States.

In bills related to abortion, members of Congress sponsoring the legislation frequently include findings that lay out the case for the bill and provide additional insight into the minds of lawmakers when passing legislation should it be litigated in court.

In the findings of the bill to ban sex-selection abortions, members of Congress make the case that the United States, technically, does less to stop sex-selection abortions than nations like China and India, where the reprehensible practice is common. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/30/congress-u-s-does-less-to-stop-sex-selection-abortion-than-china/

War on Women Rhetoric Fails, Romney Gains 13% With Womens
The rhetoric from President Barack Obama and Planned Parenthood over a supposed War on Women apparently hasn t had its intended affect of causing women voters to distrust Mitt Romney. In fact, new polling data reveals Romney experiencing an uptick with his support among women.

The ABC News/Washington Post poll shows a sharp increase in his standing with women has boosted Mitt Romney to his highest favorability rating of the presidential campaign while Obama s favorability has slipped. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/30/war-on-women-rhetoric-fails-romney-gains-13-with-women/

Obama Gives Pro-Abortion Supreme Court Judge Medal of Freedom
Because he hasn t done nearly enough to award those who have put abortion on demand in place in the United States and have fostered a society which has seen more than 55 million abortions since 1973, President Barack Obama took another step in saying thanks to the abortion industry.

In a ceremony on Thursday, Obama warded a Presidential medal of Freedom to pro-abortion Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens. The citation on Steven s Medal of Freedom lauds him for his commitment to the noble vision of our nation s founders. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/30/obama-gives-pro-abortion-supreme-court-judge-medal-of-freedom/

Lila Rose Exposes Planned Parenthood-Sex Selection Abortion on O Reilly
Live Action president Lila Rose appeared on the Fox News O Reilly Factor program on Tuesday night to expose the new video her group released showing a Planned Parenthood staffer encouraging a sex-selection abortion.

The video shows a Planned Parenthood staffer encouraging the woman to obtain a late-term abortion because she was purportedly carrying a girl and wanted to have a boy. The video is the first in a new series titled Gendercide: Sex-Selection in America, which Live Action tells LifeNews will be exposing the practice of sex-selective abortion in the United States and how Planned Parenthood and the rest of the abortion industry facilitate the selective elimination of baby girls in the womb. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/30/lila-rose-exposes-planned-parenthood-sex-selection-abortion-on-oreilly/

Long-Term Public-Opinion Trends Show Pro-Life Progress
Last week s Gallup survey showing significant increases in the percentage of Americans who identify as pro-life has sent the mainstream media s spin machine into overdrive. A number of pro-choice pundits, including Andrew Rosenthal of the New York Times, have aggressively tried to downplay the survey results (for a different take, see NRO s symposium from last week). http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/30/long-term-public-opinion-trends-show-pro-life-progress/

Chen Guangcheng Blasts China in New NYT Opinion Column

Kira Peikoff s Living Proof and Margaret Sanger: The Eugenics Link
In my previous column, I reviewed Kira Peikoff s recently released novel, Living Proof. The heroine of the book, Dr. Arianna Drake, is a geneticist who runs a fertility clinic. Reading through the book, a word from out of the past jumped off the page at me, on page 73. That word was eugenics. (That Peikoff even used the word at least shows that she understands that pro-lifers are familiar with the term and that they use it in their arguments. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/30/kira-peikoffs-living-proof-and-margaret-sanger-the-eugenics-link/

Abortions in the state of Indiana dropped five percent in 2010, according to a new report from the state health department, which puts them at their lowest levels since 1977. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/30/indiana-abortions-drop-5-in-2010-lowest-level-since-1977/

UK: Marie Stopes Abortion Ad Gets Most Complaints in 50 Years
The controversial Marie Stopes International television commercial advertising abortions has generated more complaints to the agency that monitors television commercials in the U.K. than any other TV ad in the last fifty years. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/30/uk-marie-stopes-abortion-ad-gets-most-complaints-in-50-years/

Woman Receives UK s First Corneal Stem Cell Transplant
Aniridia is a genetic condition where those that have the genetic mutation are born without all or part of the iris, the part of the eye that controls how much light enters the eye through the pupil. Aniridia is caused by mutations in a gene that codes for a protein that controls eye development. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/30/woman-receives-uks-first-corneal-stem-cell-transplant/
