China Apologizes, Suspends Officials Over Forced Late-Term Abortion
In a rare move, China has apologized to a woman who was forced to undergo an abortion at seven months of pregnancy and has suspended three family planning officials after gruesome photos of the mother and her dead unborn baby went viral on the Internet.

Chinese and American human rights groups exposed how the woman, Feng Jianmei, was beaten and dragged into a vehicle by a group of family planning officials while her husband, Deng Jiyuan, was out working. The officials asked for RMB 40,000 in fines from Feng Jianmei s family and, when they did not receive the money, they forcibly aborted Feng at seven months, laying the body of her aborted baby next to her in the bed (pictured right). http://www.lifenews.com/2012/06/15/china-apologizes-suspends-officials-over-forced-late-term-abortion/

Canada s Assisted Suicide Ban Struck Down in Court
The British Columbia Supreme Court has issued an opinion declaring the law in Canada against assisted suicides unconstitutional. Justice Lynn Smith issued a 395-page ruling Friday calling the law discriminatory in the case of Gloria Taylor, a British Columbia woman with ALS, or Lou Gehrig s disease.

Taylor was one of five plaintiff s seeking to strike the law and Judge Smith agree with her saying that, because suicide itself is not illegal, assisted suicides should not be illegal either. Judge Smith said the law contravenes Section 15 of the Charter, which guarantees equality, because it denies the ability to disabled people to kill themselves in the same way an able-bodied person could. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/06/15/canadas-assisted-suicide-ban-struck-down-in-court/

Mitt Romney Wins Endorsement From Ohio Pro-Life Group
The Ohio Right to Life Society and Political Action Committee has announced its endorsements concerning Ohio s pro-life federal and state candidates for the November 6th general election. At the top of the list is an endorsement for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, who is taking on pro-abortion President Barack Obama.

This election is the doorway into what could be the most pivotal period in our nation s history, said Mike Gonidakis on behalf of the Ohio Right to Life PAC. We personally urge every pro-life Ohioan to support these pro-life men and women, and trust them to lead our state and nation to a greater respect for life and religious freedom. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/06/15/mitt-romney-wins-endorsement-from-ohio-pro-life-group/

Catholic Health Association Enabled Obamacare, Now Opposes Mandate
The Catholic Health Association came under heavy criticism during the debate leading up tot he passage of Obamacare by signing off on the controversial legislation and taking a contrary position to pro-life groups the nation s Catholic bishops by erroneously claiming it would not lead to abortion funding.

Now, the Catholic Health Association has publicly come out in opposition to the revised HHS mandate the Obama administration put in place that will require religious groups to pay for birth control and abortion-causing drugs in their employees health plans. The group said today that it disagrees with the Obama administration s requirement on religious groups making them provide birth control and abortion-causing drugs as a free preventive service. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/06/15/catholic-health-association-enabled-obamacare-now-opposes-mandate/

Sex-Selection Abortion Ban Opposition Shows Obama s Extremism
You would think that any piece of legislation that wins a 246-168 majority of the votes of the House of Representatives would be on a fast track to become law.

Passing pro-life legislation though, whether it be the earlier ban on partial-birth abortion, or the Prenatal Non-Discrimination Act (PreNDA) a bill to make it unlawful to perform or coerce a sex-selection abortion is never easy. Like a complicated dance step, it often requires one step back, before taking two steps forward.

First, the one step back: Under the fast-track procedure utilized by the House majority, a two-thirds majority was required for passage of PreNDA. Although the legislation was supported by a strong majority, the actual vote fell short of the two-thirds required. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/06/15/sex-selection-abortion-ban-opposition-shows-obamas-extremism/

Because of Abortion, Not All Dads Can Celebrate Father s Day
As a father and now grandfather, I have entered an era of my life that s blessed me with a profound respect for the significance of Father s Day.

And with over 37 years in the pro-life movement, I also hold a deep reverence for the millions of children lost and the men who were unable or unwilling to embrace fatherhood. As incomprehensible at it seems, since Roe v. Wade the United States has literally exterminated a generation, one by one, through the horrendous act of abortion. It s hard not to reflect on how many lives children, women and men have been devastated as a result. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/06/15/because-of-abortion-not-all-men-can-celebrate-fathers-day/

Former Employees Expose Planned Parenthood s Medicaid Fraud
Planned Parenthood s mentality that abortion trumps all, including the law, has once again been exposed for the world to see.

Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood clinic director turned pro-life advocate, details just how far she witnessed Planned Parenthood was willing to go to enrich its abortion empire what she contends was Planned Parenthood openly committing fraud. She wrote:

I remember the meeting like it was yesterday. All of the clinic directors assembled in the main conference room. Sitting in a sort of squared-circle facing each other. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/06/15/former-employees-expose-planned-parenthoods-medicaid-fraud/

Embryonic Stem Cell Research Debate Dying as Adult Cells Progress
The great embryonic stem cell debate has really faded, hasn t it? I mean, when was the last time you heard the, ESCs are the ONLY HOPE for CURES! CURES! CURES! nonsense. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/06/15/embryonic-stem-cell-research-debate-dying-as-adult-cells-progress/

Sidewalk Counseling Tips: How to Help the Abortion-Minded Woman
These are tips for reaching out to abortion-minded women in a time of crisis. I have been sidewalk counseling for almost three years. Guttmacher Inflates Number of Illegal Abortions in Colombia
Last month a study in the Mexican peer-reviewed journal Ginecologia y Obstetricia de Mexico found solid evidence that the Guttmacher Institute had greatly overestimated the incidence of abortion in Colombia. Guttmacher analysts frequently try to predict the incidence of abortion in countries where abortion is illegal. In 2011, they published a paper which projected that over 400,000 abortions were performed in Colombia in 2008. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/06/15/guttmacher-inflates-number-of-illegal-abortions-in-colombia/
