The pill kills women and babies
By Rita Diller
Celebrate Life
Evil comes in many clever disguises. In the case of the concoction of steroidal hormones known as "the pill," evil is packaged and sold as a panacea for the world's problems and as women's ticket to freedom. In reality, the death-dealing birth control pill has spawned an immoral society obsessed with self. This selfishness is destroying women, babies, families, and the nation. The latest proof of the pill's poisonous effect is that it's now the vehicle being used to destroy religious freedom in these United States

A federal court ruled against the contraceptive mandate
The Washington Post
The U.S. District Court for Colorado on Friday blocked the Obama administration from requiring an air-conditioning company in Colorado to provide no co-pay contraceptives to its employees, as the Affordable Care Act directs. It was, as Sam Baker points out, the first time a federal court has ruled against that provision of the health-care law. It's not yet, however, exactly a victory for the contraceptive mandate's opponents: The injunction is specific to that one company, and it holds only until the judge can reach a verdict on the case's merits. Still, it could mark the start of a long period of litigation involving one of the health-care law's most polarizing provisions.

New student group says youth want more than contraception
EWTN News
For a new grassroots organization of nationwide university students, opposition to contraception springs from the desire for better health, a cleaner environment and happier human relationships. Marc Barnes, president of 1Flesh.org, told EWTN News on July 26 that the group was motivated by a "desire to spread the truth about contraception." He said . . . that rather than trying to promote a "subliminal Catholicism," the group was motivated by the scientific evidence showing that artificial contraception is "detrimental" to the human person. These detriments include negative effects on women's health, the environment, human relationships and sexual satisfaction, he said. To raise awareness about these problems, Barnes helped start 1Flesh.org, which was launched on June 28 and is run largely by medical students from universities across the country.

American Cancer Society CMO claims Planned Parenthood has largest OB practice in U.S.

Pro-life stalwart Abby Johnson recently received a request from the American Cancer Society for a donation via snail mail. Abby responded with a note explaining she would not give to ACS because 1) it had given money to Planned Parenthood in the past and never recanted; and 2) it refused to acknowledge the link between abortion and breast cancer. Abby expected nothing to come from her response but was surprised to receive a letter from Dr. Otis W. Brawley (pictured right), ACS's Chief Medical Officer and Executive Vice President, Research and Cancer Control Science. The surprise didn't end there. In his letter, Dr. Brawley made the wild claim that "Planned Parenthood delivers more children than any other medical practice in the U.S."
