Action Needed to Stop Unlimited Abortions in Nation s Capital
Leading pro-life groups are urging pro-life advocates today to do everything possible to secure a House vote for a bill, that passed in committee this week, to stop unlimited abortions in the nation s capital.

The National Right to Life Committee has been leading the charge for the legislation and its president, Carol Tobias, is asking for calls and emails to get the bill moved forward before Congress wraps up to begin the Fall election season: In our nation s capital, babies who can feel great pain are being brutally dismembered on a regular basis. We re trying to stop it. But we need your help. Time is very short. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/20/action-needed-to-stop-unlimited-abortions-in-nations-capital/

Student on Cross-Country Pro-Life Tour Killed, Hit by Vehicle
A pro-life student who was part of a pro-life cross-country walk was killed this morning when he was hit by a car. Andrew Moore was a student at Thomas Aquinas College in Santa Paula, California who was a part of the Crossroads tour.

At the time of his death, Moore, a Catholic, was reportedly praying the rosary.

Moore was participating in the Crossroads Walk Across America five separate, simultaneous journeys of college students traversing the U.S. and Canada in defense of the unborn. A rising junior from Concord, California, Moore was part of the Central Walk, which began in San Francisco on May 19 and will conclude in Washington, D.C., on August 9. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/19/judge-dismisses-second-lawsuit-against-obama-hhs-mandate/

Pelosi: House Bill to De-Fund Planned Parenthood an Immorality
Leave it to former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to get it backwards. The Catholic Democrat is upset House Republicans this week approved a bill that includes language cutting off funding for Planned Parenthood unless it stops doing abortions.

Instead of lamenting the immorality of abortion, she calls the bill an immorality, according to a CNS News report. The bill also withdraws funding for the Obamacare law that includes abortion funding and potential rationing.

Pelosi said, The defunding of Planned Parenthood, which is part of what their mark-up was about, was it yesterday that they officially marked up? Yesterday, that was, I know was in the mix, I didn t know if they were finished with it, that mark up. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/20/pelosi-house-bill-to-de-fund-planned-parenthood-an-immorality/

Final Ruling Strips Abortion Practitioner of Medical License
Last week the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts posted the final revocation order for the medical license of abortionist Ann Kristin Neuhaus. While Neuhaus is not a household name, her revocation has national repercussions in the abortion battle.

Neuhaus was a former associate of George Tiller, who once operated the largest late-term abortion clinic outside Communist China. His business, which specialized in doing the latest of late-term abortions and drew clients from all over the globe, earned Wichita the dubious distinction as the Abortion Capital of the World. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/20/final-ruling-strips-abortion-practitioner-of-medical-license/

Pro-Euthanasia Movement Splitting Into Two Warring Factions
When euthanasia became a dirty word the Voluntary Euthanasia Society changed its name to Dignity in Dying in January 2006. In 2008 Conservative MP for Reigate Crispin Blunt (pictured) claimed responsibility for the move.

I claim responsibility for encouraging the Voluntary Euthanasia Society to change its name he exclaimed in a in a Westminster Hall Adjournment Debate on 11 November 2008. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/20/pro-euthanasia-movement-splitting-into-two-warring-factions/

Vatican, Priests for Life to Collaborate on Pro-Life Events
I wrote on June 28 that the Vatican had cleared Father Frank Pavone as a priest in good standing in response to Bishop Patrick Zurek s September 9, 2011, letter suspend[ing] him from public ministry, words with ominous implications.

Whatever Bishop Zurek meant by using the term suspend, which some argue was just a poor word choice, has been overruled by the Vatican. Father Pavone, while still under Bishop Zurek s authority, has been authorized by the Vatican to continue his work at Priests for Life, which includes traveling and speaking around the country and world on behalf of innocent human life. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/20/vatican-priests-for-life-to-collaborate-on-pro-life-events/

Michigan Democrats Silence Pro-Life Candidate at Event
Democrats in Michigan are facing criticism from pro-life advocates for silencing a pro-life candidate wanting to participate in a candidate event.

On July 16, Right to Life of Michigan PAC-endorsed candidate Bob Costello was prevented from speaking at a forum for congressional candidates in the 14th Congressional District and was forced to leave the forum after attempting to speak. The forum was supposed to be an open forum for the Democratic congressional candidates of the 14th District but Costello (who is one of the five Democratic candidates on the ballot) wasn t invited. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/20/michigan-democrats-silence-pro-life-candidate-at-event/

Nations Fight UN CEDAW Committee Pushing Abortions
Countries are fighting back against the CEDAW Committee s questioning on abortion and maternal mortality as delegates complain about the inaccurate information the Committee relies on and the ideological rigidity of its experts. Committee experts insist abortion decreases maternal mortality, despite conflicting evidence, in order to push countries to change their abortion laws. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/20/nations-fight-un-cedaw-committee-pushing-abortions/

Ireland: Fine Gael Party Members Stand Strong Against Abortion
I remember being very impressed when I read this line in Love s Labor: Essays on Women, Equality and Dependency, authored by feminist ethicist Eva Feder Kittay. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/20/ireland-fine-gael-party-members-stand-strong-against-abortion/

Hidden Abortion Agenda in UN Convention on Disability Rights
Senator John Kerry (D MA), Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Relations, is calling for a vote by July 26 on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) just two months after President Obama sent the treaty to the Senate. Despite its attractive and seemingly innocuous title, the CRPD represents yet another push to ensconce abortion rights in an international treaty. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/20/hidden-abortion-agenda-in-un-convention-on-disability-rights/

Pro-Life Opposition to Melinda Gates Population Summit Not Fading
Pro-life protesters at the Family Planning Summit in London last week signaled that opposition to the multi-billion dollar campaign is not going away. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/20/pro-life-opposition-to-melinda-gates-population-summit-not-fading/

Arizona Residents Must Fund Planned Parenthood During Lawsuit
Arizona residents must continue having their taxpayer funds going to the Planned Parenthood abortion business while the lawsuit it filed earlier this week continues. In order to defend the law, the state needs a few weeks to compile its defense and attorneys for the state and abortion business agreed with the judge to allow that and to give Planned Parenthood time to respond. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/20/arizona-residents-must-fund-planned-parenthood-during-lawsuit/

High Doses of Hormones in IVF Hurting Women and Children
Cattle. Livestock to be pumped with hormones, their health be damned, to produce a valuable product. I am convinced this is how the fertility industry sees women. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/20/high-doses-of-hormones-in-ivf-hurting-women-and-children/
