Pushing abortifacient IUDs and implants on adolescents
By Rita Diller
Planned Parenthood has long sought to control population via invasive and dangerous IUDs and contraceptive implants, but the high cost of long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) safeguarded most young girls and women. In addition, horror stories about bad experiences with IUDs and contraceptive implants are so common that most women are leery of them. (See the comments on Abby Johnson's blog in response to her post "IUDs...the worst choice," for one scary story after another.) In fact, in 2009, only 8.5 percent of contracepting women and girls used LARC. Planned Parenthood is on a mission to change that.

Foundation buys former Tiller clinic to provide
abortion services
The Wichita Eagle
The building that housed the practice of murdered abortion provider George Tiller has been sold to a foundation planning to re-establish abortion services in Wichita, The Eagle has learned. Documents filed with the Secretary of State's Office on Tuesday indicate that the Trust Women Foundation is now sole owner of the building at 5107 E. Kellogg that previously housed Tiller's clinic, Women's Health Care Services. The foundation is run by Julie Burkhart, an abortion-rights activist and former Tiller employee. Her group has been working to re-establish a clinic to provide abortions and fill the void left when Tiller was shot to death by an anti-abortion activist in 2009.

30 abortion workers have left, and now abortionist wants out: Abby Johnson
LifeSiteNews
Not only has the former Planned Parenthood clinic manager been flying all across the country giving pro-life talks and encouraging grassroots pro-life activism, but her new charity, "And Then There Were None," has already helped 30 abortion workers leave the industry since it was launched earlier this year. And Abby now says an abortionist may be next. "We have recently made contact with an abortion doctor," Abby said in an update to supporters today. "Even though we cannot give you a lot of details about this situation, please know that God is working in ways that we could have never imagined. . . . Leaving the abortion industry is never easy for anyone, but the spiritual warfare that an actual abortion doctor endures during a time of conversion is tremendous," she said.

U.S. government appeals order in health care lawsuit

The federal government is appealing an order blocking it from penalizing a Colorado business whose health coverage for employees doesn't cover birth control. President Barack Obama's health care package requires group health plans to offer no-cost preventive care coverage to women for items including birth control. The owners of the heating and air conditioning business Hercules Industries Inc. challenged the mandate, saying their Roman Catholic beliefs condemn contraception. In July, a federal judge issued a preliminary injunction barring penalties against Hercules Industries while the lawsuit proceeds. The government filed notice Tuesday that it is appealing the ruling to the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
