Driving Out Demons
By Judie Brown
When leadership fails, those following often tend to fail as well. Our country and our Church cannot survive without strong leaders----and we need them now more than ever. Today's commentary addresses this and encourages us to take action through fasting and prayer so that the leaders within the Church will heroically defend the Church and Christ's teaching.

Mt. Sinai ends forced abortion-participation policy
Alliance Defending Freedom
A newly completed U.S. Department of Health and Human Services investigation of New York's Mt. Sinai Hospital has resulted in additional policy and procedure changes to ensure that medical personnel are not forced to participate in abortions. Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys representing a Mt. Sinai nurse requested the HHS Office of Civil Rights investigation after the hospital forced her to assist in an abortion in violation of her religious beliefs in 2009. The changes come in addition to a new policy the hospital adopted after Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys filed a lawsuit on behalf of the nurse, Cathy Cenzon-DeCarlo.

V-Monologues confirmed at 'dirty dozen' Catholic colleges
Cardinal Newman Society
The Cardinal Newman Society has confirmed that at least 12 Catholic colleges and universities will be hosting on-campus productions of the play The V-Monologues in 2013. That number is up from nine last year. Proceeds from performances at the University of San Francisco will support a group that advocates "reproductive justice" and homosexual rights. The V-Day organization reports that students at Marquette have plans for a performance benefiting Planned Parenthood. Catholic bishops and college presidents have pointed out that The V-Monologues distorts human sexuality and celebrates sinful behaviors. The play is often promoted as supporting the end to violence against women, and is used as a fundraiser by many schools to support women's shelters. But for more than a decade, The Cardinal Newman Society (CNS) has opposed performances as inappropriate vehicles for fundraising, even for a worthy cause.
