CMMB: Your Weekly Reflection in Prayer 4/28/2013

Weekly Prayer Reflection for Summer
“I will put My spirit in you, that you may live.”

Ezechiel 37:14
April 28, 2013
Fifth Sunday of Easter
Dear Friends,
The Holy Spirit is at work. New life and energy has come into the Catholic Church with the election of Pope Francis. His down-to-earth attitude, simple life style, and reaching out to the weak has made a deep impression on Christians and non-Christians. Pope Francis has called all Christians, led by and filled by the Holy Spirit, to reach out and make a difference in their milieu. Pope Francis is a Jesuit, and I would like to think that he is taking to heart the words of the founder of the Jesuits, St. Ignatius Loyola, that “love ought to show itself in deeds.” One organization that tries to live this is the Catholic Medical Mission Board, as it reaches out in love to assist those in need, those underserved.

Lord God, the hour of Your favor draws near, the day of Your mercy and our salvation, when death was destroyed and eternal life began. Blot out our wrongdoings and give us a new and steadfast spirit. Restore us to Your friendship and number us among the living so we can share the joy of Your Son’s risen life.
Amen
