Turkey Abortion Argument Continues: Fuel was added to the fire by Prime Minister Recept Erogan, who recently likened abortion to murder and constituted direct population control. Turkey's government is very conservative on the abortion issue and is now trying to lower the age in which abortions are legal from 12 weeks to 4 weeks. This has caused substantial opposition among pro-abortion women's groups, and there have been a number of marches and public displays by pro-abortion female groups. Abortion had been legal since 1983 until ten weeks. In recent years secular parties who had favored this law have been increasingly opposed by more rigid Muslim religious groups.

Britain - 123 IVF Babies Die: A report in the Daily Mail tells us that the British Human Fertilization and Embryology Authority has reported that over the last five years 123 in-vitro fertilization babies were aborted because the babies had been found to have Down syndrome. No details are listed of those with Down syndrome who carried their babies to term.

ITEM #3:  Pepsi to begin using unlabeled, sweetness-enhancing 'mystery' ingredients developed by 'aborted fetal cells' company
Beverage giant PepsiCo has once again partnered with Senomyx, the San Diego, Cal.-based chemical company that gained nationwide attention back in 2011 for using aborted human fetal cells to develop flavor chemicals, to create even more flavor chemicals for its products. According to reports, the new "mystery" ingredients are designed to enhance sweetness of Pepsi products with less added sugar, but there is no indication they will be properly identified on product labels.

ITEM #9: The language of life: Common words and phrases to consider Language is a very important tool in discussing life, and it can lead hearts and minds toward or away from respect for life. Let's examine some of the common words and phrases that can be expressed in ways that will either minimize or emphasize the humanity of the unborn.

ITEM #10: A primer on Church teaching regarding 'same-sex marriage' No matter which way the US Supreme Court rules in the "gay marriage" cases before it the international debate over the definition of marriage will continue because that debate is, at root, about matters beyond a civil court's competence, things like the nature of human beings and the fundamental good of society. Because we Catholics are and will surely remain major participants in such a debate we should be clear among ourselves as to what our Church teaches in this area. **************************************** ITEM #11: Kinsey's Junk Science and Other Unreported Sex Crimes [Note: I recommend Reisman's excellent articles on homosexuality and related issues listed below. One problem is that there is zero accountability for falsifying data -- data of any kind. "Professional" societies used to do a good job of monitoring and banning fraud within their professions -- no more. How many "scientists" have duly testified before Congress over and over again that human beings do not begin to exist until implantation or later, when it has been empirically known since at least 1942 (even earlier) when the Carnegie Stages were institutionalized around the world that such "junk science" blatantly contradicts established empirical fact? Or that "pregnancy" always begins at implantation? Or that the use of genetically engineered DNA (from insect bug guts) in our food is not harmful? Etc. Maybe it's Congress -- or any other federal body that buys into scientific fraud -- that needs to be investigated. -- Dianne N Irving, Ph.D.] **************************************** ITEM #12: If pro-choicers REALLY believed in science... Just because believe that life... all human life is worthy of protection at every stage in its development does not make you a chauvinist. In fact, the people who are actually closed-minded in American politics are the people that love to preach about the certainty of science in regards to our climate, but ignore the absolute fact that science has proven that life begins at conception.
