Lifeissues.net: clear thinking about crucial issues
Dear Friends for Life,

NEW RESEARCH RELEASED: Finds Teen Girls are New Target of Sexual Exploitation on TV -- New research from the Parents Television Council's "4 Every Girl Campaign" found that underage female characters on primetime broadcast television are more likely to be presented in sexually exploitative scenes than adult women, and the appearance of underage female characters in a sexually exploitative scene increased the probability that the scene would be presented as humorous.

Study results revealed that out of 238 scripted episodes which aired during the study period, 150 episodes (63%) contained sexual content in scenes that were associated with females and 33% of the episodes contained sexual content that rose to the level of sexual exploitation.

(The Difference is LIFE) "Why is abortion unacceptable at any phase in the development of an embryo?"

God-given human life is God's own property; it is sacred from the first moment of its existence and not under the control of any human being. "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you" (Jer 1:5).

God alone is Lord over life and death. Not even "my" life belongs to me. Every child, from the moment of conception on, has a right to life. From his earliest beginnings an unborn human being is a separate person, and no one can infringe upon his rights, not the State, not the doctor, and not even the mother. The Church's clarity about this is not a lack of compassion; she means, rather, to point out the irreparable harm that is inflicted on the child who is killed in abortion and on his parents and on society as a whole. Protecting innocent human life is one of the noblest tasks of the State. If a State evades this responsibility, it undermines the foundations of a rule of law. - [CCC 2270-2274]

(Life): "One Second Per Day From Baby's 1st Year""Meet our son Indigo who was born on the 9th July 2012. From that day my wife and I videoed Indigo at least once a day, every day up to a year old. For his first birthday we've spent some time putting together a video of his entire first year. He doesn't quite appreciate it yet, but we hope that in a few years he will."

 ****************************************

ITEM #1: The Father Who is There

Of course, giving a child your full attention, especially more than one, can be taxing. In a very real sense, it is a sacrifice and it will cost you. It may leave you exhausted, but it will never leave you unhappy. No material gift can replace the love of a father given with a generous heart, and you will be repaid with rewards so great that it will make your sacrifices seem insignificant.

****************************************

ITEM #2: The Church and population control

Until fairly recently in human history, controlling fertility was a non-issue. This was because sexuality (and fertility, which arose from it) was seen as a force of nature, a sacred and mysterious force, not to be tampered with. It is only with the rise of science and technology that societies have sought to plan, determine and control how men and women mate, whether or not they should have offspring, and how many.
****************************************

ITEM #3:  The Sexual Revolution and its Victims - part one

Always the matter is couched in terms of rights, or individual desires - what I want, what I may pursue. That this sexual laissez-faire destroys the common good, by undermining families and rotting whole neighborhoods from within, seems not to matter. Honest sociologists can give us the numbers, of children growing up without fathers or mothers, of the incidence of venereal diseases, of births out of wedlock, of delinquency and crime.

****************************************

ITEM #4: Teaching my younger sister about sex and love

Countering "going to do it anyway."
****************************************

ITEM #5: French, Catholic And Proud: Gay Marriage Battle Fuels New Kind Of Youth Revolution

Disgusted by the "spirit of May '68" the new generation of French Catholics isn't shy about taking on what they see as the moral wasteland that has taken over the country's establishment.
****************************************
ITEM #6: On contraception and the coming violence: Interview with Pope's personal theologian
"I think clearly we can see that the economic crisis which we are observing in the western world is a direct consequence of 1968, of the rejection of Humanae Vitae (the encylical that reiterated the Catholic teaching against contraception), of the rejection of the Church's teaching, and the approval of the sexual revolution, which has caused a demographic crash."

****************************************

ITEM #7 The Issue Of "Gay Marriage"
"Homosexual "marriage" is a moral and philosophical impossibility, in that it violates God's law (as given in Scripture and the teaching of the Church), and contradicts or prevents one of the fundamental ends of marriage - the procreation of children.
****************************************

ITEM #8: Taipei launches the alarm: increasingly young people at-risk of AIDS

The government publishes data on new HIV infections, which have tripled in 10 years. Although the absolute numbers remain low, fortunately, civil society and the Church are launching the "zero tolerance" towards risk behaviour.
****************************************

ITEM #9: Live-in Lovers Have Half Of All Abortions

Half of all abortions are now carried out on unmarried women who are living with a partner, official figures revealed yesterday. The share of terminations performed on cohabitees has trebled in a decade.

****************************************

ITEM #10: People Who Say They Want Abortion "safe And Legal" Don't Seem Too Concerned About The "safe" Part

Many of you are aware that last week the Texas Legislature passed historic legislation that significantly limits abortion in Texas and shows that the claim of the "Pro-Choice" abortion advocates that they mere want abortion "safe and legal." For the Texas Law places significant requirements that so-called "clinics" must meet basic medical requirements and certification. All of these requirements will significantly enhance women's safety from unsafe and shoddy medical practices all too common in abortion "clinics."
****************************************
ITEM #11: Same-sex parenting: child abuse?
One of the worst parts of abuse is society's refusal to see the injustice.
**************************************** ITEM #12: 4-part Series Examines Harms of Pornography
Part 1Ubiquitous assailant: The dangerous unasked questions surrounding pornography

Part 2Second-hand porn: the spreading circle of damage

Part 3Legal leverage: Laws to fight pornography aren't being used, anti-porn activists say

Part 4Trauma and recovery: 2 couples claw back from porn addiction
