Lifeissues.net: clear thinking about crucial issues
Dear Friends for Life,
Charities support Planned Parenthood in opposing religious freedom

Christians are known for their charitable giving. Yet the very charities many have supported are aligned with Planned Parenthood in forcing the people who support their work to pay for things that directly contradict their faith.

The March of Dimes, the American Cancer Society, and the Spina Bifida Association were listed in Planned Parenthood's recent white paper, Taking Control, as being among "a wide range of health care groups" that joined the abortion giant, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in opposing the Blunt Amendment's religious exemption from providing insurance benefits because of "moral conviction." Easter Seals is added to the list of charities opposing religious freedom, as noted by a article.

(The Difference is LIFE) "Let us not claim that things will change if we always do the same thing. Crisis is the best blessing that can happen to persons and countries, because crisis brings progress. Creativity is born of anguish, like the day of the dark night. It is in crisis that resourcefulness, discovery, great strategies are born... Without crisis there are no challenges, without challenges life is routine, a slow agony. Without crisis there is no merit. It is in crisis where the best in each person surfaces, because without crisis the wind has no bite. - Albert Einstein.

(Life): "The Amazing Fetal Development of Unborn Babies at 20 Weeks"Reading some of the hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of posts about "late" abortions, it was not until recently that it struck me what a fundamental oversight I'd been guilty of.

 ****************************************

ITEM #1: Inside Japan's 'Suicide Forest'

That I came across a body in this forest was a shock, but not a surprise. For half a century, thousands of life-weary Japanese have made one-way trips to this sprawling, 30-sq.-km tract of woodland in Yamanashi Prefecture on the northwest flank of 3,776-meter Mount Fuji, the nation's highest peak. It's a dark place of stark beauty, long associated with demons in Japanese mythology - and one that has earned itself the unfortunate appellation of "Suicide Forest."

****************************************

ITEM #2:
Argentine Down Syndrome test could increase abortion

While the test could help parents and doctors to be better prepared to care for a newborn child with a genetic defect, the organisation warned that prenatal genetic testing "has regressed" to the point that it is usually used not to help the baby but to end his or her life. The test requires a small blood sample from the mother in order to reveal the baby's sex and the presence of any genetic defects, including Down Syndrome.

ITEM #3:   I Gave Up Contraception After The Pill Gave Me Blood Clots In Four Months

A young journalism student has written a candid account revealing that she eventually gave up using birth after after she developed life-threatening blood clots in her legs and lungs after just four months' use of the birth control pill.

****************************************

ITEM #4: Defending Marriage by Defining Marriage

An interview with Ryan T. Anderson about society's understanding of marriage and why it matters.
****************************************

ITEM #5: My baby: human then, and human now

Looking into his big blue eyes reminds me of when I saw those eyes on the ultrasound screen. I didn't know at the time who that little person was inside of me, but now that I know, I can say with certainty that he is just as human now as he was then.
****************************************
ITEM #6: Bangladesh Study: Induced Abortion Raises Breast Cancer Risk By More Than 20-Fold
The Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer reported today on a Bangladesh study published in the Journal of Dhaka Medical College on risk factors for breast cancer, led by Dr. Suraiya Jabeen. The authors found a statistically significant 20.62-fold increased risk among women with abortion histories - by far the highest risk elevation reported among 73 published abortion-breast cancer studies.

****************************************

ITEM #7 Thousands of teenage girls given birth control jabs at school, family planning clinics without parental consent or knowledge
13-year-old girls are hardly mature enough to make an informed decision about whether or not to receive a birth control shot, especially since the jabs have the potential to cause some very serious side effects. The popular birth control vaccine Depo-Provera, for instance, can cause young girls to develop abnormal periods, excessive bleeding, chronic pain in the uterus, and other serious problems.
****************************************

ITEM #8: Breast cancer related to abortion explodes in Asia; coverup continues in the West

Suppose one were to introduce cigarettes to a population that had never smoked, along with the instruction: "Smoking cigarettes is not harmful to your health." That sentence, embodying false and destructive information, would-just like a molecular virus-surely cause an epidemic of lung cancer in due time, would it not? Here's another example: "Abortion does not increase your breast cancer risk." This particular strain of the "safe abortion virus" can be traced back to at least 1982 in Oxford, England, and it has now spread worldwide. The awful news is it is now poised to claim the lives of millions of women in the world's most populous nations. Let me explain why.
****************************************

ITEM #9: Who Wants to be Pro-Choice?

The pro-abortion crowd is dwindling. The movement is in shambles. Sure, there is still a lot of money involved in exploiting women in desperate situations in this way, so the industry remains, but its support among the people is slowly dying. It is really being sustained by government.

****************************************

ITEM #10: Pornography to Become Even More Readily Available on the Internet

Quietly, with almost no fanfare, the governing board of the internet (ICANN) approved a new .PORN domain on the internet. The .PORN domain joins the .XXX domain already in existence and others proposed, such as the .SEX and .ADULT domains. Morality in Media (MIM) has called for an investigation of the ICM Registry -- the company behind the approved .XXX domain and the proposed new porn domains -- "for violations of federal laws that prohibit the distribution of hard-core and obscene Internet pornography."
****************************************
ITEM #11: Abortion Viewed in Moral Terms: Fewer See Stem Cell Research and IVF as Moral Issues
Regardless of their views about the legality of abortion, most Americans think that having an abortion is a moral issue. By contrast, the public is much less likely to see other issues involving human embryos - such as stem cell research or in vitro fertilization - as a matter of morality.
****************************************
ITEM #12: Shocking study: abortion is not safer for women than childbirth after all
How often do you hear a child disposal apologist repeat the talking point that abortion is safer for the mother than childbirth?
