First-Ever National Strike For Life Calls for an End to Abortion on Anniversary of Roe v. Wade

Albuquerque, NM – Operation Rescue is encouraging those who oppose abortion to participate in a special kind of protest on January 22-23, 2015, in order to raise awareness of abortion at the local state and national level and call for an end to the barbaric practice.

This first-ever protest is the National Strike for Life, which is a two-day abortion protest launched by Fr. Stephen Imbarrato of ProtestABQ in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where the largest late-term abortion clinic in America is taking the lives of babies throughout all nine months of pregnancy.
The components of the National Strike for Life include:
• Prayer
• Fasting
• Public Protest
• No Work or School on both days
• No unnecessary spending on both days.
The mission of this protest is to launch peaceful protests throughout the nation that will send a resounding message to local, state, and national leaders that the American people will no longer tolerate the killing of pre-born children in the womb.
The pro-life movement has never attempted a strike to end abortion. However, this tactic was used successfully by the Polish Solidarity Movement’s Lech Walesa and Fr. Jerzy Popieluszko in Poland to push out the communists, establish independence, and establish human rights for the Polish people.
“Let’s start protesting today and everyday leading up to a national strike. Let January 22, 2015, be the start of the national strike, which shuts this country down so that our government and the American people understand the urgency of ending legalized pre-born child-killing,” said Fr. Imbarrato. “It is time that the successful strategies of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Polish Solidarity Movement led by Lech Walesa and Fr.Jerzy Popieluszko be implemented in the United States to end this injustice!”
Operation Rescue is a proud sponsor of the National Strike for Life and encourages pro-life activists everywhere to participate.
“We encourage men and women of conscience across America to join us for this first-ever National Strike and Protest against abortion by standing publicly and peacefully against child-killing on January 22-23, 2015. Let’s send a powerful message to America that we must stop abortion now!” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue.
