Abortion reversal billboard one block from SF’s Planned Parenthood

Help is needed to pay for it

“This billboard can not only save the lives of untold numbers of defenseless babies, it can prevent life-long trauma to women,” according to Eva Muntean, co-chair of San Francisco’s Walk for Life.

As the battle against legalized abortion in the United States heads into its 43rd year some of the most heartening developments on the pro-life side are the scientific advances which are helping to save the lives of society’s littlest victims. Probably nothing has done more to change hearts and minds than the development of the sonogram, which has allowed people to actually see the child in the womb. This was followed by the three-dimensional sonogram, which made the humanity of the fetus even more undeniable.
The trend continues: on May 7, 2015 attorney and CNN legal analyst Jeffery Toobin had a piece in Commentary magazine titled “Late Term Abortion Defenders are the Real Science Deniers.” Citing a recent study in the New England Journal of Medicine, Toobin wrote “According to the Journal, it is now clear that babies born at 22 or 23 weeks into pregnancy have a decent chance to survive if given treatment. Those born at 23 weeks are even more likely to live with half doing so without significant problems. This is good news for families but as even the New York Times tacitly admitted in its story about the report, it is bad news for those on the left who have been fighting efforts in state legislatures to ban late term abortions.
Given the now incontrovertible fact that babies who are now still being legally aborted could live outside of the womb, the moral rationale for opposing late term bans has disappeared….The study illustrates the revolution in prenatal care that has transformed the way we regard pregnancy.”
Toobin’s article concluded, “but this latest study should serve as a reminder that the debate about late term abortion isn’t so much about a culture war the left thinks it can win as it is a gap between those who understand that science has forever altered the debate about some kinds of abortions and those who think we must pretend that medicine hasn’t made any progress since 1973. In this case the ‘deniers’ are on the left, not the right.”
One of the most heartening of all the scientific developments is the recent discovery that the effects of the abortion pill RU-486 can in fact be reversed, if countered quickly, and that the baby, who would otherwise die, can instead be born alive and healthy. The abortion reversal protocol uses the natural hormone progesterone, also known as the ‘hormone of pregnancy’ to reverse the effects of the synthetic drug mifepristone, also known as RU-486.
As of April 2015, according to LifeSiteNews, due to the efforts of pro-life pregnancy centers the lives of 80 children had been saved using this procedure, and 60 pregnancies were ongoing. Unsurprisingly, the mainstream media, overwhelmingly pro-abortion, has done little to make this news becoming widely known.

The abortion pill reversal billboard is just steps away from the brown Planned Parenthood building on the right.

But pro-lifers are not relying on the mainstream media to help women make informed choices. On May 28, in San Francisco, a full-size billboard went up on the city’s busy Mission Street. The billboard reads, in English and Spanish, “Abortion Pill Reversal,” and includes a hotline, answered 24/7, where women can get more information about the abortion reversal pill, as well as where to receive the procedure.
The hotline connects women with the “Abortion Pill Reversal” program of the Culture of Life Family Services of San Diego, directed by Dr. George Delgado. The Abortion Pill Reversal program has a network of over 270 physicians worldwide to assist women who call the hotline. The San Francisco billboard is in the best possible location for maximum life-saving possibilities: just a block from the city’s Planned Parenthood abortion business.
The billboard, the brainchild of Walk for Life West Coast co-chairs Dolores Meehan and Eva Muntean, was conceived during this year’s Lenten 40 Days For Life.
As the two women were praying together in front of the Planned Parenthood, they saw an advertising billboard a block away, and… “It just came to us,” said Muntean. “We had of course been aware of the RU486 reversal pill, and had discussed how to make this better known. In fact, one of the speakers at the January 2015 Walk was Becky Buell. She had gotten pregnant, and taken RU-486. But she quickly changed her mind and got the abortion reversal pill. When she spoke at the Walk she brought her little boy Zechariah, a survivor of RU486, with her. He’s adorable!” Meehan added “Yep. We saw that billboard and it just came to us: this is perfect. This is it! It’s our chance to extend to all women the right to choose to change their minds, to choose life.”
The Walk for Life West Coast has committed to paying for the billboard for one month from late May through late June of 2015, and then for a period of two years beginning on October 2015. The organization is actively seeking donations from pro-lifers to help cover the costs.
“The Walk stepped out in faith on this” said Muntean. “But this is a life and death issue. We think this is so important that we stepped up. This billboard can not only save the lives of untold numbers of defenseless babies, it can prevent life-long trauma to women who otherwise would have aborted their children. Abortion Pill Reversal So we ask pro-lifers to step up and help cover the cost. You can donate online on our website or by check. Please indicate ‘billboard’ in the note option for online donations or in the notation field of your check.”
