Priests for Life September-October Newsletter and other important updates

Priests for Life
an outreach of Gospel of Life Ministries

September - October 2016 Newsletter

Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director, and Janet Morana, Executive Director, were asked to teach a class at the summer bioethics course of the Pontifical Athaneum “Regina Apostolorum” this past July. They were asked to speak about a particular initiative that Priests for Life, through the Silent No More Awareness Campaign advances, called “Healing the Shockwaves of Abortion.”

Below you will find the Priests for Life September-October newsletter but first let me give you some other important updates.
A nine week election novena begins on September 6th and I invite you to join us in prayer in preparation for the upcoming important National elections.  Find the prayer at ElectionPrayer.com.
On Saturday, September 10, Priests for Life, as well as Citizens for a Pro-Life Society and the Pro-Life Action League are calling on pro-life Americans to participate in the fourth annual National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children to honor the gravesites of our unborn brothers and sisters. Solemn prayer vigils will be conducted at these gravesites, of which there are 50 across the United States.  To learn more about how you can participate see http://abortionmemorials.com.
After nearly five years of legal battles regarding the HHS Mandate - the government opened up the process of finding a solution to public comment! Priests for Life will hold a webcast on Monday night, September 12 at 9:00 PM Eastern, to explain to concerned citizens how they can lend their voices in support of Priests for Life, the Little Sisters, and various dioceses and Christian ministries who have stood firm against the government's attempt to make them complicit in the expansion of abortion.  Sign up at www.PriestsForLife.org/Webcast. If you care about the right to freely practice your faith, join this webcast and encourage others to do the same.
Brand new episodes of The Catholic View for Women begin on EWTN on September 7. Tune in on Wednesdays at 11:00 pm and Fridays at 10:30 am ET.  Go to www.TheCatholicViewforWomen.com for episode details.
Likewise, brand new episodes of our show, Defending Life, begin on EWTN on September 21. Defending Life is the world’s farthest reaching and longest airing program on abortion! Tune in Wednesdays at 3:00 am and Thursdays at 11pm ET.  Go here to see the list of episodes.   You can stream EWTN online by going to EWTN.com and clicking on the "television" tab.
In the coming days I will be honored to receive two awards: The 2016 Freedom Fighter Award Sept. 20 in Michigan from the American Freedom Law Center.  You can see more about this award here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=167QjDVIns0.  Also the Sue Lopez Person of the Year Award during the Culture of Family Life Services seventh annual gala Oct. 8 in San Diego. If you live near either event, please join me if you are able.
Blessings,

Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director
What is the Church supposed to say as elections approach?
We as priests and deacons need to be free to do what we were ordained to do: teach the Faith, and help people apply it in their lives. The Faith applies to every sphere of our private and public lives; that includes what our nation does collectively in the elections, and what each of us does privately in the voting booth...

A Thought on the Supreme Court Case Whole Woman’s Health vs. Hellerstedt
In its June 27 decision in Whole Woman’s Health vs. Hellerstedt, the US Supreme Court was supremely wrong in striking down a commonsense law in Texas aimed at protecting the health and safety of women.
