40 Days For Life: DAY 20: "Don't trust an abortion clinic ..."

image
Dear Deacon John,
Today's subject line comes from a 40 Days for Life team in Texas.
We'll get to that in a bit ... because it's a story of one of the babies saved from abortion during this campaign!
In answer to your prayers … we are aware that so far this 40 Days for Life campaign …
… 196 babies (and their moms) have been spared from abortion!
How does this happen? It's because of everyday people just like you who are willing to step out of their comfort zones and put their trust in God – who hears and answers prayer.

El Paso, Texas

"Don't trust an abortion clinic to give you any other choice but abortion," said one of the 40 Days for Life volunteers.
A young woman said she really got the runaround from the abortion staff. She was at least willing to think about adoption, but all she heard about was abortion.
The week before, she'd been to this abortion chain's other location in nearby Santa Teresa, New Mexico ... where she was told her pregnancy was "not viable." And of course, they recommended abortion.
But volunteers in El Paso were able to accompany her to a life-affirming pregnancy help center ... "where she got to see that her precious baby is indeed alive and 9 weeks along," the volunteer said. "Praise God!"
She also received information on adoption ... but after seeing her baby in the ultrasound image, she said she wanted to parent. Please keep her in your prayers.

St. Louis, Missouri

"Through even the worst storms," said Brian, the 40 Days for Life leader in St. Louis, "we see our Lord working through prayer volunteers and sidewalk counselors."
Two volunteers prayed in a driving rain until a young family stopped to talk.
"When the conversation ended," said one of the vigil participants, "they were smiling. They drove away from Planned Parenthood toward a life-affirming option."
As their car turned the corner, the other volunteer cheered, "This is what we're here for!"
"No matter how miserable the weather is, or how hard the wind blows," said one of the St. Louis team members, "we are called to persevere in faith that God can work through us, rain or shine, to protect the unborn.

Isaac prayed to the Lord for his wife because she was barren; and the Lord granted his prayer and Rebekah his wife conceived. The children struggled together within her, and she said, "If it is thus, why do I live?" So she went to inquire of the Lord. And the Lord said to her, "Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples, born of you, shall be divided; the one shall be stronger than the other, the elder shall serve the younger."
— Genesis 25:21-23
O, God, you formed us in our mother's womb and planned a unique and special life and purpose for each of us, and we do thank you. Grant that we may pray and work for an end to abortion, especially in these 40 days, so that no unborn baby you have made may fail to achieve your divine intention for him or her because of intentional abortion.
